ABOUT

Renato Cardoso is a composer, double bassist, music producer, and educator, currently based in Coimbra, Portugal.

He completed a Master’s degree in Composition at the School of Music and Performing Arts (ESMAE), where he developed research in the field of hybrid composition for audiovisual media, exploring the integration of orchestral writing, technology, and contemporary music production.

His artistic language lies at the intersection of concert music, film music, and electroacoustic creation. His work seeks to build sonic narratives through the combination of orchestral writing, acoustic instruments, virtual orchestration, and technological resources, creating music for film, video games, trailers, concerts, and other audiovisual media.

Alongside his work as a composer, he develops projects in music production, recording, mixing, and artistic research, aiming to bridge the tradition of classical composition with the creative possibilities of contemporary technology.
